Technology and Career Education

Because of its superior position among German high-schools the LGH offers facilities to develop and use the student's potential, especially in scientific fields.

We have a computer room with high-performance workstations on which quality software is installed. Also, we have modern science rooms and professional equipment. These are used in various additional classes, that are offered free of cost to the students.

We are one out of five excellence centers in mathematics, information technology, science and technology (MINT-EC) in our state.

Based on the concept of individual advancement of the pupil's skills, the math lessons are taught in courses instead of classes. This means that the lower and middle school is divided up into different courses, depending on their grades and subject skills. Because there are more courses than classes, the courses are very small which makes teaching easier and more effective. For that reason every student can be supported individually. Of course, if your grades are very good, an upgrade in a higher course is possible at any time.

Another recently created offer is the possibility of going to university courses without formally beginning academic studies (so called junior studies). The universities of Ulm and Stuttgart offer support for undergraduate students who accept said offer.

Furthermore, the LGH is one of five schools in Baden-Württemberg, which belongs to the network of MINT-EC. This is a special honoring and is important for the school to support the students especially in sciences and mathematics. It serves also the purpose to merge different schools to a network which is supported by different companies, universities, research laboratories and associations. It is important to enlarge the number of students who are interested in science. Another important aim is to give the science lessons more priority.
