What is TSA?
The Technology Student Association is the largest national student organization which contributes to the technical education of young people. Nationwide over 150,000 middle and high school students from 48 states and also students from international TSA Chapters (for example the TSA Chapter at the LGH) prepare for over 30 competitive events, which all aim for the improvement of technical skills. Every year, there are state conferences where the best projects are elected to compete at the National TSA Conference.
TSA is supported by teachers, parents, and business leaders, but it is the huge involvement of students in administration and organization which makes TSA so special. Therefore each Chapter, each state Chapter and also the National TSA has its officers.
Learning to live in a technical world.
As we believe in the need for a technologically literate society, TSA is an important issue concerning the preparation of technologically literate people.
TSA gives students the possibility too enlarge upon STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), to improve their social skills by working as a team on competitive events, to experience new fields and to develop new interests.
Besides the technological education TSA also develops leadership qualities, as the members are encouraged to accept responsibility by becoming a chapter, state or even national officer.
As already mentioned the chapters play an important role. Only together they form the National TSA and at the conferences students from different chapters compete against each other. If you are interested in technology and related fields and you want to be a part of the TSA you have to join the chapter at your school or you have to start a new TSA chapter at your school together with a motivated teacher.
